The Dress

550 metres of fabric,
238 people,
20 metres in diametre,
3 metres in height,
1 singer.

Realised in over 550 metres of Kvadrat’s classic Divina wool fabric, REDDRESS is worn by a performer who will climb a concealed 1.5 metre staircase to immerse themselves into the billowing material. Reaching an impressive 20 metres in diametre, it can accommodate up to 238 people within the gigantic pockets of its vibrant folds so that visitors can fully engross themselves into the space and moment.

"I wanted to create the ultimate relationship between an audience and a vocal musician by connecting them with something other than just music".

REDDRESS is part of the permanent collection of the Design Museum, Helsinki, Finland.
